About me

»The mind is powerful, and it is only by understanding and harnessing its power that we can truly live our lives to the fullest.« – Sigmund Freud

I’m Jaka Peter, ma. pth. science, psychoanalytic psychotherapist.

In 2013, I dove into an extensive study in the field of psychotherapy as a whole and for the past five years, I have been practicing psychotherapy with an emphasis on the psychoanalytic approach. I would describe myself as an emphatic listener, which, to be honest, comes naturally to me. In my practice, I focus on critical components of the therapeutic relationship, by providing an unbiased and safe environment to explore your problems and concerns. My passion, so to speak, for mental health emerged through a variety of life experiences and an interest in helping throughout my life.

With rich psychoanalytic theoretical knowledge, combined with a background in sociology and philosophy, as well as with diverse practical experiences, I enable my clients to deeply explore internal emotional conflicts, understand themselves and their relationships with significant others, and explain defense processes and other phenomena that hinder their everyday private and business life. I offer individual psychotherapy in person (in Ljubljana) and online psychotherapy regardless of the location.
